Section 1: Culture

The tango originated in Argentina, but has become quite popular in many other countries including the United States. The music itself does not have a set rhythm, however, with westernization, a "standard" tango has been formed. The non-standard tango has more non-western qualities. Western tango steps were made standard by western dance studios to be able to judge competitions. However, the Argentinian tango is a evolving constantly, and changes day to day along with Argentinian culture. It still is mainly based on improvisation.
